I was introduced to the res series with res 5 on the 360, the one where you in aftica. I loved it! But 6 was a let down.

I bought the xollectors box only a few years ago at jb reduced to $40 and not long ago sold it on ebay for $100.. cha ching!
Starting bid was $69 but At the time mine was the only one available on 360, all the other listings where PS. So some die hard fan snapped it up.

Quoting myself because I'm awesome...

But.. holy..fucking...shit...

This is amazing in vr. Not really my type of game normally. But I played the demo twice and it is something that I can't explain unless you try it yourself.

Also, props to capcom for making such am epic demo that rivals some full priced games for content and length

Length?  From memory it is pretty short but, the important question is, did you scream?

Depends which Demo? The "Kitchen" demo was short.. the original Demo was much longer, especially given to 'beat it' you had to do multiple run throughs a-la PT.

It has 3 or 4 endings. If you try to solve all the murders it's probably longer then most vr games. I probably spent over an hour on it just doing the standard Bad ending ( from the first version of the demo) and exploring into the new area

There's only a few jump scares but the atmosphere is intense

If you are looking for it on the store, it's the Beginning Hour demo

Thanks Raz, I was confusing it with the kitchen demo.

This game does look interesting from the Let's Plays I've seen, I might wait until I get a VR unit and play it like that though.

Played about 4 hours last night and really liked it . I dont have VR but doesnt really matter to me . Very similar to the demo and definitly not an action game which is great . I was a big fan of the early games and stopped playing them when they became more action focused .

Honestly this is the killer app PSVR has been needing.. it is amazing in VR, better graphically than the Kitchen demo. I only got to play about an hour in VR last night but I am thoroughly impressed, both with the VR and with the game itself.

Can confirm there was at least one point I almost threw my controller thinking it would help me get away and another time I almost fell off my lounge trying to learn / duck away from something... the immersion is spot on

did they do anything to change the janky controls with how your character turns in the world? (i hated the first hour demo controls for turning)

No, it pretty much controls the same, it does feel a bit sluggish at first, but after a while it feels right for the game (and the series), it certainly makes those moments when you're trying to get away from something/someone more intense.

You realise there are a tonne of options to change the control scheme right?

I can't wait to get this for VR, but will wait for a discount. Trying to work through my backlog already

I actually don't mind the controls, I think they suit the feel of the game, plus it feels very resident evil 1 like. But I'm a self confessed fan boy of resident evil so I'm a bit biased with some things.

obviously no, hence my comment. :)
