Watched heaps so far. Looks awesome. Everyone is saying it really gives lots of cool and old school type of battlefield moments.

Big patch for bf5 also live now with some good updates

Hmmm....don't know how this will go.

I think they have left their run too late for this mode.

Rush is already in spaz. It's another mode that makes a special appearance for a while.

I've been playing it this week to get my assignments done. It is totally rage worthy with fucking campers sometimes, while other times it is fucking awesome running around and shotgunning the campers

Before I start, Apex was my first BR game. Really enjoyed it before I moved on to Anthem. But to be clear, haven't played other BR like pubg etc so my experience is limited.

That being said, I really enjoyed firestorm last night. It was slow getting between games unlike Apex which is very quick, but I loved the gameplay. Looting system is acknowledged as needing improvement but everything else was good from my perspective (footsteps perhaps a bit too loud).

I suck and haven't placed highly yet, but if anyone wants to give it a crack definitely hit me up.

Trust me when I say, watching a tank drive through and demolish a building that some asshat is trying to camp in will bring a massive smile to your face

What's the team set up @raz81 ? Is it squads/duo's/solo? Spaz jumped back into Fortnite on the weekend and they have really given that some improvements. Spaz liked APEX but the netcode was so borked it wasn't playable (maybe it's fixed). Spaz might fire up BFV and see how the BR goes.

@mimix  Did you try the BFV BR mode?

Spaz is the king of Battle Royale  :P

I don't think I'll be back to BFV -at least not in the short term.

My experience the last few times I played was just poor. Copping double loading screens that needed me to restart the game entirely was just too much. It's not the fastest loading game out there and my game time is limited.

I'll stick to Apex.

Anyone given Firestorm a good go yet?

I feel like I'm so burnt out on BRs now that I can't be bothered with it, even if I really liked BFV

I think Raz is the only one I have seem on there giving it a go.

I might give it a try on the weekend and also see if I can get @MajorSpazz back into the game

Yeh Ive been playing every night since release. As per my post a few days ago I really like it. It has some flaws but it's very cool.
Had some issues getting into solo games a few nights ago, but last night it started putting me into American servers. I guess they updated their matchmaking logic.
I fucking hate playing with lag normally but I continued on since it was so fun.
All squad games match maked me into Australia servers.

I still haven't come close to winning a game (I'm very gung ho, generally good at bf games and love them, but a noob at BR). But fuck last night was fun. Some highlights;

- first game last night, I shoot a helicopter down with rocket launcher
 - watched a dude loot a high level objective then hide in a nearby building. Called artillery strike on building. Demolished it and him
- stalked a tank and owned it
- spent almost an entire game playing cat and mouse with 1 dude in a little town. Ended up winning that fight; figured out which building he was in, found a ladder to climb up, went through a second story window, jumped down the staircase and shotgunned the door camping wanker in the face
- blew a hole in a wall to expose a team. Got owned but pretty sure I gave them a suprise
- last game; found a helicopter. Tried to ram another helicopter. He landed and exited. I landed on top of him and squished him

I just want the good old, kill em with the syringe back.
Even the goody of waste em with smoke.  ;D
I've been pretty full on with work lately so the PS4 is not feeling the love.
But it looks like I'll be able to get some play time this weekend, so I'm up for giving this a try.

I should be good to give it a decent try.

Had two rounds last night - OMG - the load times are shit. After playing Apex, COD : Blackout and The Division, I totally forgot just how long it take in BF5 just to get started.

As for Fire Storm itself - so far I'm divided.

I like the BF5 feel, the graphics are awesome (especially the firestorm coming in), but I have two problems with it.

1. The inventory system - it's just unusual. Maybe I'm too use to Blackout.
2. The fire Storm itself - the circle is just too damn fast. Not the closing speed but the time between the ring movements. It feels like the ring has just reached it's point, you are quickly looking to get loot and it's on the move again.

Also, I don't know if this is by design or a bug - I was in a squad of 4. The squad leader was killed. He stuck around until the final 10 just watching the last 2 of us play. He bailed on the game and the remaining 2 of us were kicked.  Not sure if the other played was "offered" to be squad leader and didn't accept, so the game kicked us.  :o

Spaz fail. Did you forget about bf5??

Homer; took me a little while to get used to the inventory. Basically, can have 2 items equipped at any one time, and you swap them in and out. A little clunky on console. Dunno if it's like this on purpose for balance reasons (eg so you can't rapid fire switch between rockets, grenade pistol, at grenades, etc) or if they'll improve.

I think the Devs said they wanted to reduce the mid game lull that other BRs have, so perhaps that's why the rings move quick? I didn't notice and thought the pacing was fine but I haven't played other BRs really

Totally missed the message earlier.

Sounds cool that it has those battlefield moments but there's so many other games I'd rather play than a BR right now unfortunately
