Spaz is thinking about canx his pre-order. This game doesn't sound anything like a normal FO game. It's more ESO and Spaz doesn't rate that.

I like FO games. As with most RPGs of this scale (eg Skyrim too) I never get around to finishing them.
I burnt myself out in the last fallout game. I built so many bases and stuff which was cool at the time, but now I look back and think 'what a waste of fkn time'. Not dissimilar to my thoughts around NMS and my base building there lol.

So, holding out on this for now.

how is base building any different to the grind of levelling up in any other game? it's not. it's just a different way to keep you engaged.

TBH, i prefer base building over levels, as i will have something cool to show for it.

I have not seen anything that is tempting me to buy........just looks like FO4 with multiplayer and less story. Laggy shooting and hit detection, frame drops everywhere, clown clothes, and that not-so-great fallout fps mechanic.

Spaz is the opposite. Hated the base building in FO4. Normal FO leveling for Spaz.

The only thing that really annoyed me in FO4 was that main NPC always bugging me to help.. just let me go on my murdering spree in peace thank you very much

its not. Dont get me wrong. I had a bloody great time, and always seem to get addicted lol.
Its only in hindsight that i start to think "wtf I wasted my time, shoulda played something else". It generally stems from working hard/ grinding / etc to build cool shit. Finishing it. Then realising i have nothing else to do and moving on. Never get to actually take advantage of the stuff i did (but thats just because of the way i play / engage)

yep, i get you now. rather than grinding forever, we should move on to a new game.

I suppose that's the sign of a good game, if you grind for hundreds of hours, rather than putting it down.

I'll still be getting this, my expectations were always pretty tamed when it came to an online Fallout so none of the performance issues shock me, Fallout 3 and 4 ran like crap anyway.

Spaz was wondering why there was super mutants and ghouls in the clips so far (FO 1 and 2 got into the stories on them and the 25 years isn't long enuff). Playing all the FO series the timeline is really easy to follow so Spaz just assumed it was going to be that the vault's time was wrong and they were 300 years in the vault or something. Spaz doesn't mind changing the coarse but it needs to be explained and the future should be set up.

The more I'm watching about this the more I'm thinking the only thing that'll save it is it being a fun multiplayer experience..

So if this is online 24/7 do we get servers in OZ? Spaz isn't feeling the love so far!

Pretty sure it is always online.

Wouldn't hold my breath on Oz servers, they're rare as an honest politician :troll:

Beta times will be adjusted for different times f day to enable non yanks the chance to play in their prime times as well.

The currently avail gameplay was only optimized around the vault area as for some reason Bethesda thought the players would not try to explorer the whole map for some reason.

Glad I u vested in the time buddy app to decipher time zones :)

Watching a few streams of the beta, definitely seems to look and play like a fallout game. The world seems a bit empty though given there's no NPC quest givers etc. it does look like a bit of fun in a group but I think it might be a bit bland solo.

Spaz isn't sold on the 'group non NPC fallout concept' but will give it a go. Spaz will revolt if it fails!

Spaz is getting on release to get the power armour helmet but might leave this one on the shelf for 6 months until they either put NPC's in or all the servers are empty. Spaz has played every fallout and having real world players over the in game friends you normally have just doesn't work for Spaz. Dogmeat is Dogmeat!
