Seems people on Wingepool are getting their keys.

Has anyone here received theirs yet?

yeah played a bit this morning.

was a bit lost. it got dark so i ended up hiding in a warehouse, with 100s of infected outside.
but the bugger broke through a window and then seemed to break the wall down.
So i went through 6 clips, but couldnt keep them off before they ate me.

Some really good ideas here, but its definately in alpha.
Some of the HUD looks a bit crap, but i presume this will be polished over time.

I can see this being alot of fun in a group.
The map is huge, and if you spawn out on the deserted areas then you are going to get killed pretty quickly.

I tried the crafting tool once. Its great how the items you can make, based on what you are carrying, comes up on screen.
I made a steel door, but that took alot of looting.

so yeah. for an alpha its stable but still alot of improvements to be made. Graphically and in the gameplay.
But when i signed in first a message came up with a heap of nes stuff that is on its way, flying enemies (bee swarms), new zombies that spit toxic shit that melts walls and chracter customization. Just to name a few.

played again last night.

was a bit laggy and took abit to render to start with.

There is a lot of loot around, but its all crap. Which is good in a sense, as guns seem to be only found in warehouses or some houses.
The zombies sound great as well, and you can hear them clawaing away at a building you are in at night which adds to the suspense.

I really think this game would be better suited to MP.

yep, the inital load is laggy, but after that it's all awesome. lol. it seems that if you can survive the first night and make a bit of a bunker/hideout/camp, you're ok.

it took me 3 attempts to get to midnight, but now i feel ok. I have food and water and can now starting mining.

overall i'm really glad i got this as it will be my "i've got 20mins to play a game" game.

so i've worked this game out.

Day1 = knock down a tree, to make sticks and sharpened sticks. Find enough scrap metal to make 4 ingots (12 pieces of scrap, easy). Make a pick axe with sticks and ingots. make stick traps for zombies and lay in a 4x4 square.

mine down into the ground for the first night. then during the first night, mine constantly and look for iron ore.. from ore make pipes and then metal trussing and once you have trussing, you have a VERY strong defence.

my plan is to build a metal trussing cage around a house with a mine opening in the house. then grow potatos on the roof and then i just need to get water and I'm unbeatable. lol

I think i've got the game beaten. I've got a very sturdy home. double rock, then double metal trussing. Now I'm just going round in circles.

Day 1: mine and plant crops
Day 2: repair house
repeat.

nope, alpha 2 is bring flying and corrosive spitting zombies. so i even put the metal trussing over the roof, but since my crops are planted on the roof, i'll need to sort something out.

At day 12, there are about 50-70 zombies smashing my house in, so i guess if I stay alive for 30+ days, there might be 100's of zombies and it'll be impossible to repair as much as they damage each night, and at that point, i'll need co-op.

I was reading on their forums that you'll need to start a new game after each patch if you want the new features and apparently Alpha 1.1 is due out "soon", so it might be best to wait for that patch before playing.

Alpha 1.1 is out, and you can simply download the 1MB patch, rather than the 300MB full game.

yeah the devs said they are going to bring faster alphas now so we should see more changes. Horde mode might be a good change because SP is too easy
