I suppose we won't know a release date  until E3.

Awesome!

Now all I want to know is:

   Where is it set?
Im assuming SP only, but is there any form of co-op / online?
   Release date????
No doubt there will be, but, whats in the collectors edition?

Cannot wait for this!

All the rumours pointed towards either Boston or California, but apparently Bethesda team members were spotted mapping areas of Boston.

Same, one of those games that I can't resist a collectors edition.

I hope they can make Fallout 4 feel fresh. The trailer certainly isn't, and of course will be waiting to see actual gameplay (maybe E3?).

Co-op would be better than having a brainless follower. I wouldn't say Boston is an impressive setting - but the quality of the game experience will be more about how Bethesda implement story, atmosphere and gameplay.

Hopefully will get an idea of release schedule at E3.

I'd love some form of co-op, but it seems doubtful for these types of games.

I think boston could make for an interesting setting, within the FO lore, as it's where the Commonwealth and The Institute (formally M.I.T) is located, so there's a conflict over technology and who controls it, no doubt the brotherhood of steel will be at war with The Institute.

I think the biggest challenge for Bethesda is to make the choices in the game and the quest feel like they mean something and have weight to them, after playing the witcher 3 where your decisions really did alter the game and even small side quests felt engaging, rather then fetch quests, it'll be a big ask.

In saying that, I'm a FO fanboy so unless it's a massive steaming pile of bugs and glitches, I'll be happy enough.

It'll be interesting to see what sort of graphics detail they'll be putting into the game. Vanilla Skyrim was beautiful and well done, and the modding community for PC took it further with 2k and 4k texture overhauls. I'm hopeful that that trend continues with Fallout 4!

Same, played FO 1 & 2, helped out on Tactics dev & testing, then waited an eternity for FO 3.   Replayed a GOG FO 2 run through last year, so probably more of a tragic than a fan boy :)

Anyone wanting to brush up of Fallout Lore so they're ready for FO4 should watch this web series:

https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL7pGJQV-jlzD17YNNbt103xp0PkkUCoPU

They are just beginning series 3 and for anyone that's into fallout you'll love it. The first series is good, but from the second series on wards it presents like it's a David Attenborough documentary with an in game character being filmed by an EyeBot.

Awesome, I haven't played any of the Fallout games. Will this go through summarising what has happened in the previous games?

Yes and no,  it discusses events that happen in all the games,  but it's not in any sort of order and it doesn't specifically tell you which game it happened in.

There's probably better videos out there that will summarize the games individually,  but these videos really help flesh out the lore behind a lot that happened.

Awesome, would you recommend i check out some game summaries or this series? I don't know what its all about.

much like my feeling with the new Witcher 3 game. I haven't played the previous games so I haven't bothered to look into it.

I don't think it's completely necessary to have played or know about the previous games to enjoy each FO installment as they tend to tell their own story. But they do all tie in together and in my opinion helps with the immersion into the fallout universe.

As I said in previous posts, I'm a bit of a fanboy for Fallout, so it's hard for me not to just say yes! go watch summaries, watch all the lore videos that ShoddyCast did (as per my link), but at the end of the day it's about how much you want to get into it.

I'm such a FO fan it's not funny. I've loaded FO1 onto my PC at work and kicked of anew run through.

For those who played the originals the guy/team who really invented the series have released Wasteland. Very much in the FO world. Worth a look if you like the series.
