I agree raz.

However they are right when they say people who play xbox are always playing online.

I call BS on that!  I reckon the mix would be similar to the PS3... there are a lot of good SP titles on the XBox as well

most people play MP games, i get that. but to cut the other people out of the market is stupid.

This I agree with.  My XBox is at the opposite end of my house from my router and for various reasons, can drop off the network.  I really don't want to not be able to play when this happens.  I also, sometimes, block internet access on various times at home (mainly when my son is playing up, the internet is such a good punishment ;)) and again, don't want to stop playing.

i cant see them doing so, as it would give a huge advantage to Sony.
But you never know, Sony may do the same.

I can't see either of them doing it, I can see making you be connected when to install the game but not too play it unless it is an EA or Blizzard title.

Seems a bit odd? Outside some of the Asian countries inter-webs around the world aren't that good. Seems like they will be killing a major part of the market?

xbox execs tells fans concerned about always on future to deal with it
http://mashable.com/2013/04/05/xbox-execs-tells-fans-concerned-about-always-on-future-to-deal-with-it/

"Those people should definitely get with the times and get the Internet," Orth tweeted. "It's awesome." Orth then added, "I want every device to be 'always on.'"

Orth tweeted a picture of President Obama shrugging his shoulders and smiling with the caption "Deal with it."

Twitter user Manveer Heir then challenged Orth's "deal with it" remark by noting that some users of Diablo III and SimCity had experienced issues with outages. Orth replied, "Electricity goes out too."

Finally, Orth was asked what he thought of fans who lived in relatively unconnected places like Blacksburg, Va., and Janesville, Wisc., which led him to reply, "Why on earth would I live there?"

I find it hard to believe they wont let people play any of the games without a internet connection.

I'm not to worried if they do though cause the chance i buy a nextbox is slim to none at this point.

I think it's more to do with piracy and will need an ' always on ' connection.

yup that is one big reason for it, its one of the main concerns blizzard made their new games always on as well. there is as offline mode but the experience wont be as good as being online. i can only assume xbox would be doing something similar.

just wait to see which system has "always on" mode before picking which one to go with next generation.

Really if Sony don't do the banned second hand games thing they will win this console war hands down. Developers might demand they do it but if Sony sell 2x as many consoles due to it the dollars will talk first.

I hate xbox but talking money wise, I cannot see M$ banning second hand games if Sony don't. Also always online may just be a one time activation for games. I'm sure there are many different meanings to always online that MS could take. Well that's my rant
