From the released game play, it looks like its pretty much ready, and seems like they are just doing the final testing.

Monolith mention that they are using their own engine for this game, I am not sure if it is LithTech which was initially developed by Monolith Productions in collaboration with Microsoft, or a new one they recently created. But using your own engine would have numerous benefits over using an exising one, say the Unreal engine.

Posted on Shadow of Modor Facebook.

"Recently, PewDiePie got his hands on Shadow of Mordor. We may never know what happened to Lizzie"

This guy is quite annoying, but the gameplay is cool!

Warner Bros. Entertainment has confirmed that the release of the upcoming Lord of the Rings action role playing game Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor will be delayed for Xbox 360 and PS3.
According to Warner Bros., the last-gen versions "will take more time in development" and will be launched on Nov. 18 and 21 across North America and Europe respectively.
The opposite is true for the release in next-gen consoles.

Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor will hit Xbox One, PS4 and Windows PC on Sept. 30, earlier than the previously announced Oct. 7 for next-gen consoles and Oct. 2 for PC.

This has been one of my most anticipated games all year. (Sept 30 release)
We will be able to have our stories cross over. There is no MP or co op but I remember seeing in a Gamescom gameplay video, how you can set targets / missions for your friends to take on and vice versa. Ill set you a war chief from my game and your will have an optional/side mission to assassinate him etc.. The warchief / enemy will not be in your Sauron's Army line up, he will be from my game, but a side mission for you if you accept. And i think if you kill him, he is eliminated from my game. Which is similar to if we use an orc that we have power over.

I wonder whether I will enjoy replaying Shadow of Modor, I normally finished a story/campaign and am done with the game (sell it on ebay or return to ebgames if within 7 days). It has a unique nemesis system to generate new enemies which evolve on each play through, but will that be enough to overcome the repetitive grinding of the same gameplay? For example I have played all Assassins creeds, love following the story and doing the main mission, but get bored with free roam and side missions. Same goes with gta, watch dogs etc. Actually now that I think about it, Assasin Creed Black flag, GTA V & watch dogs, I finished them all within 7 days of launch and returned/sold.

this is released on October 8th for PS4 and XONE in Australia, PC will get it October 2nd

Quote
We’ve had word from Warner Bros. Australia just now that the Australian release date for console versions is unchanged (remaining at October 8th). The Steam version will be available globally (yes, and in Australia) on October 2

Ahh so many good games releasing! I barely have enough time to play Destiny.

Have XB1 as well so Forza Horizon and Sunset Overdrive are coming too.

This looks awesome.

Being a fantasy fanboy I was always gonna get this, but I'm way surprised that IGN scored it so high! Mind you, they're less than consistent with their scoring, but still.

Really excited over this (as my excitement of Destiny wanes...) I really hope I will enjoy replaying this at least until mid Nov when half a dozen games will distract my interest.
Gameplay time is roughly 12 hours with a standard plot, but by branding all warchiefs around 25 hours.

Get your self ready with this Primer video:

If anyone gets an error code when trying to run the game: ce-34878-0
It is most likely caused by some usb device plugged into your ps4. Unplug your PS Eye, usb headphones or third party devices and it should go away!

I have been looking forward to this game for over a year. Watched so many gameplay videos and trailers. Only played a few hours but i love it
I had a low orc captain kill me 4 times and is promoted and powered up each time. Had a few cool fights but got swarmed by enemies. Switched to stealth style like assassin creed and cleared some orcs.
The story is decent so far but i keep getting side tracked just assassinating random orcs.
