All Things Lego
« on: January 03, 2013, 10:46:48 AM »
I have started playing Batman Lego with my 5yr old daughter and she loves it, and I must admit so do I.

I now have Batman, Lord of The Rings and Harry Potter (Yr 1-5)

I am finding LOTR a bit of a grind.  My son has finished his first playthrough of the story.  I am just starting the last movie.  Not much that is new and too many elements stolen from the previous titles.  It doesn't seem to have the same level of comedy as either the HP or Indiana Jones titles.

I have the first Batman game and love it. I think i'll end up getting all the LEGO games since they're fairly easy and good for when you're a bit bored but don't feel like anything requiring too much concentration (BF3, etc)

This is the main reason I have bought a few.

Downloaded Batman for the Vita, Lara has played a bit of it and I might have a look one day.

Lego now harms your kids:

http://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/lifestyle/parenting/lego-creating-more-angry-faces-and-it-could-harm-childrens-development-researcher/story-fni0do1w-1226662850221

'Legos are also increasingly based on conflicts, "often a good force is struggling with a bad one," he found.'

Kids play has always had conflict in it: cowboys and indians, cops and robbers, black spy vs white spy etc.  Considering the concept of "childhood" is relatively new (20th century) what proof do we have that our "touchy feely wrap up the kids in cotton wool don't let them fight, avoid all conflict, sport has no winners and losers" approach to child rearing is actually creating a positive society.  You can tell my opinion by the way I wrote this.  I don't see how future adults are going to be equipped to cater with the real world... /rant

these games are coming too quickly at the moment, hard to finish one before the next one arrives.

Wii U only.. oh and 3DS, pretty good title with a unique story rather than a movie franchise.

Yeah lego city is pretty good on the 3ds.
I got Marvel Super Heroes on Vita. Completely different style of play and storyline to the other versions from what i can gather.
Still a great little game with plenty of characters to unlock.

I never got around to finishing LOTR on ps3 before i sold it.
It was one of the most in-depth lego games. and the hobbit game looks even better.

They are releasing these way too fast, and seem to have lost their sense of humour as well.  Lego The Hobbit has so many features that were lifted straight out of Lego The Movie which was a complete copy of the movie without their typical humour.

I am grinding through The Hobbit but, to be honest, it is becoming a real grind... the side missions are all the same.

It sure does. Now  I just need a trailer for The Avengers version and I'll be happy.
