still looks like a very lonely game to me

Yeah it does a bit, especially given the devs have said it would be very difficult to find your friends due to the size of the game. I've been playing Elite Dangerous on Xbox One, which is similar in a way to No Mans Sky in that it's just a giant sandbox universe to do whatever you want, but at least it's easy to see where friends are and travel to them to wing up.

I will buy this day 1. Its not an mmo or about playing with others.
Its about exploring galaxies and enjoying the experience.
It is very ambitious but could be great if done right.

I'm with Rossi on this one, as many of you have come to know, I like many different types of games and this hits the right spot in that interest zone.

I feel this game can only be done 2 ways: Terrible or really great. No middle ground.

I think this hits the nail on the head.. itll either be boring as batshit or simply amazing.

i like the exploration part of things, the thing i want thats a little more mmo like is just maybe you will find some parts of the galaxy where there might be a station where many people come for trading and a bit of socializing or even party to maybe do a local galaxy event for some space battle fun intercepting some ships for materials etc.

But would love to see some face to face trading not just putting things up on the market and crap.

Be good if you become an "outlaw" for killing life on a planet you get put up on some wanted list where people can try to track you and kill you for a bounty.

Sounds like you should be playing Elite Dangerous...

There's no face to face trading, but there are "community goals", the 2 that were run in the past week was 1 war (pick a side and go at it, either PvE or PvP) and the other was a trade mission to deliver metals (any kind) to a station in preparation to build another station. I'm too weak for the Combat goal but I did the trade CG and got an 8mil payout for my trouble.

Also, there are bounties to chase, either on NPCs or other players if they've been doing illegal things.

If No Mans Sky ends up anything like Elite Dangerous then I'll be happy, but so far it's still a wait and see as they havent been very forthcoming with info.

At 1:51 does an animal do a "pop-in"? That would be a very short draw distance.

Graphically looks a bit better than I expected. You can see grass (although very thick) all over the final planet shown. If two planets are close enough to eachother you can see mountainous detail of a planet while standing on the other.

Still unsure about the whole exploration and discovery goal. Discovering things in real life is one thing, but in a video game is another.

I do enjoy exploring in games and finding out what is around the next corner, and working out the mechanics of the game world. So far finding out "what is around the next corner" in no mans sky is quite underwhelming.
