I've spent a bit of time on this now with the battle royale side as it is the free to play side of it.
And I am finding it a lot of fun.
Because it is so quick to get into a game and for the game to start, I find that I don't rage anywhere near as much when I die.
And I found the game can be fun in any mode, from solo to squad games.

If you have no idea what games your child is playing, IMO that's the parents fault not the game makers fault.

Awww, what rubbish. This is the only game keeping me playing at the moment, I've not been interested to start anything that actually requires thought or a lot of time, just way too much other stuff going on.

Seems like the media will latch onto and create a any kind of story on anything that is popular.

@SgtEeyore have you tried Fortnite?

That's a different kind of perty @spazmanaught. No1 can match that.

I was the same, loaded it when it first came out... play 1 round died in <1min and thought stuff it, that's a waste.
Then my 8yr old started playing it and I watched him and realised it can be a bit of fun... he gave me some tips and now I'm hooked - so don't try and take it away from me Tracy!

Yeah, my 13 YO and a bunch of his friends are playing it (even though all we parents have banned it based on Tracy's advice). It looks a lot of fun, but he would give me such a hard time if I got into it.

I find it fun for a couple of quick games.
The battle Royal side is free to play where you can buy things like skins etc.
But I haven't payed a cent yet.
And in Squad or duo mode its worth a few laughs.
I have found lately to that the map is hugely upgraded with places to roam everywhere.
Just one tip, learn to build fast.
You can shoot all you like but defence is a huge plus.

Where do you get the guns? Tried a couple times yesterday and Spaz had a pick and the other Derek's had pistols and all sorts of weapons? What's the secret?

In buildings generally, but also on cars. You hear an ongoing chime / tone when you are near loot. You will have to get your axe out at times to get to them.

lol yeah I told him to come over and stay with us on the weekend. He copped a few stitches from footy last week and missed a few hours which cost him some ranking spots.

See the Epic announcement (no pun intended, I mean the announcement from the company named Epic who makes fortnite, not that the announcement isn't epic although it's pretty Massive, not the Division developer Massive, I digress

About providing $100 million dollars prize money for esports/ fortnite for the next year over 139 or so tournaments.
To put it into perspective the entire annual esports value last year was about $89 million spread across counter strike ~$23m, league of legends ~$32m and overwatch etc..
