Hmm. Any idea on the game play?

Will it play like a Fallout game? Or more linear like The Last of Us?

I've been wondering this myself, those videos don't reveal much.

From this video I think the game looks good visually, but I just don't think it looks that great gameplay wise. Not really a fan of first person either.

Considering this is launching on August 11th, I'm surprised it's not up for preorder on the Aussie store. Was hoping to see if they'll be offering the 20% discount like the US.

This launches tomorrow if my mind doesn't mistake me.

Probably going to pick this and Vanishing of Ethan Carter up together as these games intrigue me. Yeah, they're just walking simulators just like Ether One but I like those kind of games.

Given a 9 from Gamespot
http://www.gamespot.com/reviews/everybodys-gone-to-the-rapture-review/1900-6416215/

THE GOOD
Beautiful, nonlinear narrative demanding full emotional investment
Masterful use of audio and visual cues for guidance
 Gorgeous, highly-detailed world
Forces full engagement with hidden secrets and unwavering tension

THE BAD
 Movement speed is frustrating
No manual save and checkpoints are few and far between

Did anyone end up getting this?

I grabbed it on launch day and completed it in a single, horribly depressing sitting. Giving the thread a bump because it's really stuck with me, even weeks later. Definitely not a 'horror/thriller' as the forum would suggest, and very approachable by anyone of any skill level.

In generic 'game' terms, it's gorgeous. Amazing graphics, one of the best soundtracks ever to grace a videogame, and a narrative that'll keep you guessing until the very end. Your enjoyment will really hinge on one specific element; do you like stories, or do you like shooting things? If you chose the latter, you're barking up entirely the wrong tree. ;)

Anyways... The reason you should pick up this game; it's absolutely drowning in melancholy. Not ashamed to say that it had me on the verge of tears a number of times. Without giving anything away, the narrative explores the final days of a small English village in the early 80's where everyone has suddenly and inexplicably disappeared. You uncover their final moments through 'echoes' of light, and each one is heartbreaking in their own unique way. You traverse beautifully rendered buildings and gardens, sweeping meadows and countryside, leading all the way to...

*ahem*

Well then... Recommended, for sure. It's a gaming experience that ranks up there with some of the best I've had this generation.

I wanted to get it but PlayStation's useless payment system refused to let me buy it so they can get stuffed now.

Finished this today, great game. Excellent graphics, very thought provoking storyline.

The Chinese Room know how to make them.
